International Congress on Mycorrhizae

Organizers : African Network on Mycorrhizae (AFRINOM 3), Mycorrhizae and Mediterranean Ecosystems (Mycomed 2), Francophone Network on Mycorrhizae (JFM 4)
Theme : Mycorrhizal Symbiosis a key factor for improving plant productivity and ecosystems restoration
Dates : October 1-3, 2014
Conference objectives
This international conference aims to promote the development of new engineering strategies for sustainable plant production and land management considering the beneficial effects of mycorrhizal symbiosis, with the following main

objectives:
- updating of scientific and technical knowledge of plant-soil- mycorrhizal fungi interaction and the roles of mycorrhizal symbiosis as providers of key ecological benefits (ecosystem engineers, biocontrol agents, biofertilizers, and bioenhancers).

- An incentive to share the experiences of scientists from diverse backgrounds for young researchers, policy makers and potential users.

- An overview of the economical valorization of mycorrhizal symbiosis practices to the socio-economic environment in the Mediterranean and tropical areas

Topics of the conference

Theme 1: Biology, Ecology and diversity of the mycorrhizal fungi in tropical and Mediterranean environments;

Theme 2: Mycorrhizal symbiosis and plant tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses;

Theme 3: Valorization and transfer of the mycorrhizal biotechnologies in Agro-ecological engineering strategies and socio-economic environment in the Mediterranean and tropical areas.
